Study the two sites listed above. They produce concordances using Internet texts. Run one search. How do the results vary from classic corpus searches? Think of advantages and disadvantages of both. Be prepared to discuss your ideas with your classmates.

1. Read the Tutorial
2. Test your command of English Vocabulary at the 8000-word level (in Test your lexis).
3. In List Learn, study 10 words you do not know from the 8000-word level
• Click on a new word
• Study its concordances
• Check its meaning in the dictionary linked to this page
• Choose the most suitable concordance line and copy it to the box below, note down the basic meaning.
4. After you finish working on your chosen 10 words save the results in an Excel file and submit it.
5. Explore various tools available from this site, especially exercise creators such as Dictator and Multicon.
